2010 festival winners

The winners of the GSIFF New York 2010 International Film Festival were announced at the festival brunch at The Loft on Sunday.

The winning filmmakers and their films are:

*** Best Feature:  Just Between Us, directed by Rajko Grlic

*** Best Actress: Maxine Peake as 'Anne Lister' in The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister

*** Best Actor: Miki Manojlovic as 'Nikola' in Just Between Us 

*** Best Cinematography: Victor Nieuwenhuijs, for Meat

*** Best Short Film: Tapeworm, directed by Margaret Laney

Special Jury Mentions:

*** Best Acting in a Short Film: Madeleine Lodge, in Tape Worm

*** Best Student Film: The Birds Upstairs, by Christopher Jarvis

*** Best Experimentation in Film: Somewhere Never Traveled, by Ben Garchar
