He Film (France, China, 2011; 75 min.)
Director: Liliane de Kermadec
For 37 years, first on foot, by bike and then by motorcycle, He Fu Quang has been traveling the back roads of Sichuan, bringing wherever he goes “culture and cinema,” as he calls it.
Offered by the Chinese government, the films are now sent via satellite from Beijing to Chengdu where He Fu Quang, known as “He Film”, will download them on his hard drives. As he arrives in a village or an isolated farm in the bamboo forest, he displays a large screen and, at night, the show starts.
A unique look at the modern China of the countryside, and the city, as it lives in front and behind the traveling cinema screen…
